Western Maine Volkswagen Club is a new organization just starting out. We are open to anyone interested in Air-Cooled and Classic Water-Cooled VW vehicles, stock or custom.

Our goal is to give you the VW owner and enthusiast support and information, by way of learning from other members, participating in events and publications.

We have at minimum quarterly Board Of Director meetings at different spots. We organize club outings/meet ups, group rides to events, tech sessions, cruise-ins and more as the opportunity presents and is agreed upon. Check the calendar for WMVWC Events and other events that our members might be interested in.

We want to grow, represent and promote Western Maine Volkswagen Club in the community in a positive manner. The more work, effort and relationship building we all invest, both as an individual and an organization, the stronger and more united the community will become.

This club is dedicated to educating anyone who is interested in the mechanical operations, repair and history of Antique & Classic VW's.
We hope to achieve this with the online Tips, Tricks & Help forum and  with tech sessions helping each other with repairs with the intent of teaching maintenance and repair skills needed to maintain a VW air-cooled vehicle.

We are also dedicated to helping our local community. A portion of the Net Funds raised by means of hosting events, registration fees, member support, and donations will go to the local community. The other portion will be put back into the organization for overhead expenses and allocated to the things need for to achieve our goals as an organization.

Classic, Antique & Vintage Volkswagen's

Usually, the classic car applies to vehicles when a vehicle turns 20 years old. Antique cars are over 45 years old, and vintage cars are built between 1919 and 1930. But as with many subjects in the motoring world, not everyone can agree on a single definition. State DMVs, insurance companies, and classic car clubs classify each one differently. And some classifications overlap between classics and antiques.

Maine: Classic Auto - Vehicle is 25 yrs old. As of 2024 a 1999 vehicle is a classic. Vehicles older  than 25 yrs old do not require a title 1998 model yr or older

Mission: Western Maine Volkswagen Club corporation’s purpose is to raise funds for local charities and to share and teach Volkswagen historical and technical information to the public and to our supporters for the preservation, restoration, modification and enjoyment of antique and classic Volkswagen vehicles. To foster fellowship and to promote good will within the communities in which it operates. This will be achieved through various means such as meetings, car shows, technical teaching and repair sessions. Furthermore, to participate in and support events by other organizations and other programs as deemed desirable to fulfill the mission.
